FFS was founded in 2010, yet the oldest record of football in Mildura is this 1913 photograph of the Irymple Football Club. 

The game had enjoyed a migrant-fuelled boom in pre-war Melbourne. Participation more than doubled between 1908 and 1912 and kept rising steadily before the war. In rural Victoria, the game broke out simultaneously in Mildura, Wonthaggi, Kyabram, Ballarat and other towns. It is recorded that between 800 and 1000 men were playing senior soccer in Victoria in 1914.
